Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"

He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Yes yes. I know it's long and lengthy but definitely worth the read. I've read it over a hundred times but I still feel happy, excited and encouraged every time i reread it.=)

Giving to the Needy

¹"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

²"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. ³But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, ⁴so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Prayer

⁵"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. ⁶But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. ⁷And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. ⁸Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Fasting

¹⁶"When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. ¹⁷But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, ¹⁸so that it will not be obvious to men that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Treasures in Heaven

¹⁹"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. ²⁰But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. ²¹For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

²²"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. ²³But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Do Not Worry

²⁵"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? ²⁶Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? ²⁷Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

²⁸"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. ²⁹Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. ³⁰If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? ³¹So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' ³²For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. ³³But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ³⁴Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

In this chapter, my most favourite part is the "Do Not Worry" part. Im already 20 years of age and I realized the older I grow, the more responsibilities I have and the more responsibilities I have, the more worrisome I get. I tend to keep forgetting about what God says in times like these.

At this moment in life, I have many aims

• Get Good Results in my Degree
  
• Learn more programming languages for job purposes in the future.
  
• Achieve long and short term targets in my floorballing career
• Get a part time yet high paying job=p
• (im teaching tuition now but not considered high paying enough=p)
• One part time job I have in mind is opening a Western Food stall.
  
• In order to achieve the aforementioned, I need to keep working on my culinary abilities. A big thank you to all guinea pigs who have so kindly sampled my cooking especially my wife =)
  
• Start to invest in my future.

Yes I have my plans in mind because I want to make my life as happy and comfy as possible especially for my future. Although a substantial amount of happiness may be achieved, the BEST happiness ever possible in anyone's life is when he/she is in the perfect will of God. I want to achieve THAT happiness. God has promised me that he will take care of ALL THESE THINGS if I just seek HIM first. That's just so awesome.

I'm not so worried anymore . I'll just do my best and seek God's kingdom first=)

My sister has always come to me asking me a question rhetoric to many yet hardly answerable by any

"What Was I Born For?"

This question from her would arise especially more so on days when her exams are around the corner. I would rhetorically reply to her rhetoric ranting by saying that we are here because of one reason alone which is for GOD and to live his special WILL designed for your life.

I hear some of you thinking in your minds "AH....CLICHE~~~~" Believe me, I felt that exact same way the moment those words escaped out of my trap. I felt bad, horrible, mortified. After 20 years of existing in this world, I find myself still unable to capture and explain the true essence of the beauty of God's will..

Lucky for you and me, by divine intervention with the help of "anda tiub" I found a video which i strongly believe captures that essence to a substantial extent. Having said that, not sharing this video with you would make me a complete *passageway for bodily excretion* (this IS a family friendly blog btw)

To the faithful readers, friends and aquaintances,

I am sorry for either replying messages in my chat box extremely late or more often, not at all. It is not that I am "sombong" as Azhan commented but I have been so busy for the past few months that I hardly had the time to even go online let alone blog. Now that I've just finished my sixth semester in college and am currently on holiday, here I am - free - to blog again......for now....

I've got a big load of college work out of the way and I mean a REALLY BIG LOAD settled. However, there is this FINAL BIG LOAD double in size awaiting me in my final semester come the end of this March known as the Final Year Project in which I shall not talk much about as it's nothing more than Engineering stuff which I percieve will bore the life out of the majority of readers of this blog.

In other news, my sister is going to enter an essay writing competition. I don't know why but i have a feeling that she's gonna win. I don't know why.Maybe it's because she won a handphone in a contest she entered a few years back which I initially thought impossible when she was applying. Maybe also because she has the calibre to write good stuff being excellent in English for a girl her age. I came back from work today seeing her in front of the computer with a stack of novels by her side looking for inspiration.HAHA. I know..cuz the first thing she said when she saw me was..

I read this book recently titled "Relativity Simply Explained" and to my surprise, it was a really good book with remarkable stuff in it. Maybe remarkable to me only because I've never really thought much about "Relativity" but if one discovered what it really meant in it's true essence, it would really be mind blowing.
Big is a size undefined and can only be measured if compared to another thing.If there was no other thing, there can be no definite way one can say that something is Big

If a person falls asleep one night and everything in this world enlarges 10 times and I mean EVERYTHING, when that person wakes up, would he have noticed the difference that things have enlarged? or would everything seem same in size to him as before?
